Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented therapeutic approach that integrates techniques to help you track physical sensations and gently engage in movement to release stored energy and support nervous system regulation and healing.

Somatic strategies may be integrated alongside traditional talk therapy interventions or serve as the primary focus of sessions depending on your needs and goals.

I invite you to schedule a call so we can discuss what approach may be the best fit for your unique situation.

SOMATIC THERAPY
Frequently Asked Questions

  • Somatic therapy sessions focus on increasing awareness of physical sensations to help release tension and patterns held in the body after overwhelming or traumatic experiences. This approach is often experienced as gentle and can be used during in-person or virtual sessions.

  • Yes. Somatic exercises can be integrated with cognitive and emotion-based approaches, and many clients find this combination supportive and healing. We will collaborate to create a plan that aligns with your goals and preferences.

    • Couples Therapy: $225 Per 50-Minute Session

  • I do not accept insurance and offer private-pay services only. This allows me to provide more personalized care while prioritizing client privacy and autonomy. As an out-of-network provider, I can provide an itemized receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to learn more about your out-of-network benefits.

  • Under a federal law known as the “No Surprises Act,” healthcare providers are required to provide clients who do not have insurance or who don’t use insurance for therapy services with an estimate of the cost of those services.

You have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule services, and if you receive a bill that’s at least $400 more than the estimate, you may dispute the bill. For more information, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services website.

  • I ask all new clients to commit to weekly sessions initially, as I’ve found that clients benefit most when consistency, momentum, and a strong therapeutic relationship are established early in the process.

The length of treatment varies based on your goals and needs. Some clients seek skill-focused support and may engage in therapy for approximately 3-12 months. Others wish to explore more complex or chronic patterns and symptoms, which may involve longer-term work over several years. Some clients also choose to continue attending sessions on an ongoing basis as part of their overall wellness practices.

We will collaborate on treatment goals during the initial sessions, which often brings greater clarity around the direction and anticipated length of therapy.
