BACKGROUND & CREDENTIALS

I’m Gina; I help adults transform overwhelming worry into confidence and support couples in building greater relationship satisfaction.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from Concordia University Texas and my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. These programs provided a strong foundation to work effectively with adults, couples, and families.

I have worked in the mental health field since 2008, primarily within social service organizations serving individuals and families most in need.

For nearly a decade, I worked on the executive leadership team of a local clinical agency where I contributed to strategic organizational planning, program development, staff management, and clinical supervision.

My clinical career began in 2013. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S) in the state of Texas. As a Board-approved Clinical Supervisor, I provide clinical oversight and support the professional development of post-graduate clinicians.

I completed Somatic Experiencing International’s three-year professional training and am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Additionally, I have received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, the Gottman Method, and Imago Relationship Therapy.

How I got here…

Slowing down and being present allows inner peace and innate wisdom to flow

My lived experience navigating many of the same struggles I now help others with, and the profound impact therapy has had on my own growth and wellness deeply shaped my decision to become a therapist.

My first experience with therapy was as an overwhelmed teenager. Although I knew I needed help, I was also hesitant: What would people think? What would therapy be like? Would it even help? To my surprise, I was never judged for seeking support. In fact, the more I shared about my challenges, the more I realized how many others were experiencing similar struggles.

My first therapist was patient, conversational, and never pushy. She supported me at a pace that felt respectful. I found the therapy space dedicated solely to me, for me, to be deeply meaningful and, even sacred. Over time, I began to feel more like myself again.

One day, sitting in her office and looking at her wall of diplomas and certificates, I asked her what it took to become a therapist. That moment marked my decision to pursue this career. From then on, my education, training, and professional path aligned with that goal. Each of my own therapy experiences since has continued to inform my therapeutic style and deepen my respect for clients who show up for this work.

I hold a continued commitment to my own personal therapy, professional training, clinical consultation, and spiritual practices, recognizing that caring for myself is essential to providing thoughtful support to my clients.

Being a therapist is a natural extension of my passion for walking alongside others as they work toward meaningful growth, and I genuinely love the work I do.
